Hernia & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

Dr Vishal Soni_Hernia Types

A Hernia is described by the location in which it occurs: External Hernia & Internal Hernia. If it occurs after a surgery or a procedure, its called as an Incisional Hernia, Port Site Hernia, Drain Site Hernia etc.

Majority of these cases are operated in elective settings & thus in controlled situations. We curate our surgical decisions to deliver outcomes with highest possible precision & minimum chances of complications,

a concept we identify with our campaign called #PatchOfHappyness.

The Mesh

Dr Vishal Soni Mesh Selection

A #Mesh is a natural or synthetic woven structure used to augment the strength of the Musculo-Fascial Layer of the Abdomen, is central to modern day Hernia Treatment. There are innumerable variations in the type, composition, pore size strengths etc.

#Mesh usually needs some form of fixation to the abdominal wall or a fixed bony structure, which is done using Sutures, Glue or Tackers (Medical Grade Screws). Here too the varieties are innumerable. The best Mesh Fixation options depend on the individual patient profile.
